The lower terminus of the Hoher Kasten Cableway in Brülisau can be easily reached by public transport. You can take the Appenzell Railways from Gossau via Herisau – Appenzell – Weissbad or from St. Gallen via Appenzell – Weissbad. From Weissbad train station the postbus goes directly to the lower terminus of the cableway.

You can reach Brülisau by car via Appenzell – Steinegg or via Appenzell – Weissbad.
There are sufficient parking spaces at the lower terminus station of the cable car Hoher Kasten.
The parking fees can be paid with the following means of payment:
The parking fees cannot be paid by credit or debit card.
There is only one parking zone (nr. 901) which applies throughout Brülisau. There are four parking meters, two at the entrance to the cable car and one at each of the other parking areas.
On busy days, additional parking areas are available in the vicinity; these parking areas are privately owned and can only be paid with cash (Swiss francs only).
Please register your vehicle, also for the free parking time, at one of the parking meters or on one of the apps.

There are no parking spaces available in Brülisau, at the foot of the Hoher Kasten. The parking spaces in the official parking areas are too small for mobile homes or caravans.
Since May 2024, spending the night in vehicles has been prohibited at all locations in Brülisau
Parking spaces are currently very rare throughout Appenzellerland.
